How to Create a Gang Sheet for DTF Transfers

A gang sheet lets you arrange multiple designs on a single transfer sheet, reducing waste and lowering your cost per print. This guide walks you through creating a gang sheet using our free online tool — from choosing your sheet size to exporting a print-ready 300 DPI file.

Before You Start

  • Design files in PNG format (transparent background recommended)
  • Images at 300 DPI or higher for best print quality

Step-by-Step Guide

1

Open the Gang Sheet Creator

Head to our free Gang Sheet Creator tool. It works in any modern browser — no downloads or sign-ups required.

2

Select Your Sheet Size

Click A5, A4, A3, or Roll at the top of the page. A5 (148 × 210 mm) suits small designs, A4 (210 × 297 mm) is the most popular, A3 (297 × 420 mm) fits larger or more designs, and Roll (310 × 1000 mm) is best for high-volume orders.

3

Upload Your Designs

Click the upload area or drag and drop files directly onto the canvas. You can upload multiple images at once. Each file can be up to 150 MB.

4

Position and Resize

Click and drag designs to move them on the sheet. Use the corner handles to resize. Hold Shift or enable Lock Aspect Ratio to keep proportions. The DPI indicator on each design turns red if quality drops below 300 DPI.

5

Rotate and Flip

Select a design and press R to rotate 90°, H to flip horizontally, or V to flip vertically. Strategic rotation can help you fit more designs onto a single sheet.

6

Set Copies and Spacing

Need multiples of the same design? Use the copy controls in the sidebar to set the number of copies. Adjust horizontal and vertical spacing in the Options panel to control gaps between copies.

7

Use Auto-Arrange

Click Auto-Arrange in the toolbar to let the tool optimise the layout automatically. It packs designs as tightly as possible to maximise sheet usage. Check the usage percentage in the bottom bar.

8

Export Your Gang Sheet

Click Export PNG to download your finished gang sheet at 300 DPI. The exported file matches the exact sheet dimensions and is ready to upload to our ordering system or send to any DTF printer.

Tips for Better Gang Sheets

  • Use PNG files with transparent backgrounds for the cleanest transfers
  • Keep all design elements at least 1 mm in size
  • Avoid semi-transparent effects like smoke, glow, and shadows
  • Check the DPI indicator — anything below 300 DPI will look blurry when printed
  • A white background is not the same as transparency — always verify your file
  • Start with the correct canvas size — do not scale up small images
